Dan and Becky

Young Family – Mission to the World/Northern Mexico

Dan and Becky Young have served in MTW’s U.S./Mexico border ministry since 1990. They currently work on both sides of the border with MTW’s northern Mexico team, Centro para Plantación de Iglesias/ Center for Church Planting, or CPI. The Youngs are part of the team centered in Monterrey, Mexico, but are based in McAllen, Texas. The CPI is committed to church planting, the preparation and training of church planters, and to revitalizing churches and training leaders, especially in northern Mexico.

Dan leads the ministry of CPI along the border with south Texas, networking with pastors and church planters for church planting and revitalization in border cities like Laredo, McAllen, Reynosa, and Matamoros, and others in the Rio Grande Valley. His main ministry is serving, training, and coaching pastors and ministry leaders. Becky ministers through discipleship, mentoring, and faith and arts ministry. She is committed to painting and using her gifts to care for creative people. Dan and Becky also partner with Isaiah 55 Ministries in Reynosa, a ministry of justice and mercy, where three MTW couples are working.

Sylwestrowicz

Stasiek and Faye Sylwestrowicz

Stasiek and Faye Sylwestrowicz – Nova Missions, Serving in Poland

Since 1998, Stasiek and Faye Sylwestrowicz have engaged the Church in Gdansk, Poland. There they desire to develop a network of like-minded church planters to exchange and encourage others in the same church planting ministry. Their goal is to have annual gatherings as a platform for worship, teaching, and building vision.

Their ministry in Poland started when they accepted an invitation issued by the Baptist Church in Gdansk to help develop evangelistic home group systems for discipleship. Ever since, they have come alongside existing local churches and church communities in need of development. During the fall of 2003, the Sylwestrowiczs were invited to help with development of a Baptist church plant. The church plant started to grow, and even developed its own ministries aimed at serving the community—thus building inroads to the neighborhood for the Gospel.

More recently, the Sylwestrowiczs have become more involved in creationist outreach. Their vision for Gdansk is to find people who are ready reach out to family, neighbors, and friends with the Gospel by opening their homes for Bible study groups.

Jeff and Katie Saunders – RUF & Mission to the World, Serving in Japan

Children: Emerie, Ezra, & Naomi

It was at Covenant Seminary (Jeff, M.Div., ’15) that God began calling Jeff and Katie to advance His kingdom in Tokyo, Japan. The Saunders moved to Tokyo as part of a church planting effort and to do university ministry. Jeff started the first RUF in Japan and Katie has a ministry to the moms from the children’s playgroup.

Japanese are the second largest unreached people group in the world. A recent survey showed that 35% of Japanese young people felt hopeless about their futures.

The Japanese desperately need to hear they are loved, have dignity, and are given ultimate affirmation through the incarnation. The message of Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection has immense power to move people to experience true humanity the way God intended. Please pray for a great movement of the Holy Spirit so that many Japanese would experience that power as they taste and see the risen Christ.

Pray for Jeff and Katie and their three children, Emerie, Ezra, & Naomi as they serve Christ in the largest city in the world.
